Trades Investigation
Create a Haiku Deck presentation describing 8 of the trades in the list below. You should include the trade name, background picture and description of each trade with an understanding of what they do and what post secondary education is available, if any. When you have completed this you should be able to define the difference between a labourer and a skilled trade’s person.

- Heavy equipment operator
- Foundations worker
- Carpenter
- Roofer
- Windows and doors installer
- Siding installer
- Insulation installation
- Electrician
- Plumber
- HVAC
- Drywall / crack filler
- Cabinetmaker custom built vs. prebuilt in a factory setting
- Flooring installer
- Painter
- Well driller
- Septic system installer
These trades’ people sometimes get in the way of each other but if you can manage your build properly and have as many of them as possible working at the same time it will speed up the completion of your home. Some carpenters may do several of the above tasks, however it should be noted that some people make a living and have a career in just one of the trades above i.e. insulation or siding installer.
